Shilpi Mohanty, a resident of Delhi, was living with severe stomach problems and fatigue after years of a busy work schedule and irregular eating. In her own words, here is how she felt after 2 months of eating natural foods and following the Satvic lifestyle.
"This journey has been transformative for me. Not only did I feel my health come back and my stomach settle, but I also started feeling more aligned and in connection with my body. I feel great on both physical as well as mental level."
Why did you start following the Satvic lifestyle?
Last year, after living abroad for more than 6 years, I decided to move back to India due to my health concerns. While living abroad, I did not find enough time or motivation to cook for myself or prepare a meal plan. I was eating anything & everything that was available. I had no fixed routine and my complete lifestyle was disrupted. Eating too much junk food and living an unhealthy life soon started affecting my health. I started experiencing severe stomach pains & acidity. The situation got so worse that whenever I ate something, I ended up vomiting. Moreover, I used to feel bloated & heavy all the time. Because of all these reasons, I decided to move back to India. Only a few days after arriving, I came across Subah's YouTube videos. After watching the videos & understanding the science behind it, I decided to give this a try.
What did you start doing? Tell us about your healing journey.
The thing that caught my attention the most was the concept of intermittent fasting, the logic behind it, made complete sense. I changed my diet and started drinking ash-gourd juice every morning. It had only been a month, when I started feeling better & healthier. To further my knowledge about satvic lifestyle, I decided to attend Subah's upcoming workshop in January. The workshop was like a revelation for me. I learned about so many new things such as the power of life giving foods, the real cause of the disease, and the healing power that lives in all of us. After the workshop I started following almost everything: intermittent fasting, enema, wet packs and sunbathing on a regular basis. (Note from Satvic Movement: fasting, enemas and wet packs are not for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 14 or anyone who is severely underweight.) Earlier, I was a non-vegetarian, but after understanding the value of eating living food, I gave it up completely. Now, I only eat what comes directly from mother nature.
What are the benefits you received by following the Satvic lifestyle?
This journey had been truly transforming for me. Not only did I feel my health come back and my stomach settle, but I also started feeling more aligned and in connection with my body. I feel great on both physical as well as mental level. Now, I don't experience headaches or feel bloated after a meal. Moreover, I feel so much lighter and energetic even after hours of doing rigorous yoga.
Apart from the physical changes, have you noticed any mental or spiritual changes?
Yes. My patience and tolerance level has risen multi-fold. I have noticed that I do not nag about the weather being too hot or humid anymore, whereas earlier, I used to get very irritated by it. Also, I have witnessed great improvement in my concentration power, I do not get distracted easily. The important thing is that, I have realized that the lighter you eat, the better you feel.
Can you imagine a world without diseases & medicines? A place where everyone lives in sync with nature. What do you picture?
It will be an amazing world. I myself have worked in pharma and medical industry for more than 8 years, and I know the reality of it. I felt that for many everyday problems, medicines were only part of the answer, and our food and habits mattered just as much. So, if this world becomes a reality, people would need far fewer medicines. For me, living as per the laws of nature has been the right way.
